Brass Whale Oil Lamp

This lamp is 6 ½” high and made of heavy cast brass. It is American and mid-19th Century. It has a saucer base and open thumb piece. Where pewter handles were sweated on, these were riveted in place. This lamp is much heavier than a pewter example of similar form.
